It's
time we all rise up and be strong and do the work. It's time we make the
decision to overcome our fears, overcome our doubts, overcome our sicknesses
and every single obstacle that crosses our paths. It's time that we go after
our dreams - those desires planted deep within our hearts by God Almighty. We
were designed for a specific purpose, and it is up to us to rise up and get to
work!
So
how do we live our lives by design instead of auto-pilot? How do we live a life
without limits or excuses? The answer is simple - we do the work.
Now,
you may or may not be a person who applies biblical principles to your life.
That's okay and I completely understand. However, I'm going to share some
spiritual principles with you today and I sincerely hope that you can be mature
enough to learn from my journey even if you don't agree with everything that I
say. So, here goes...
Be
strong
It's
not always easy to be strong when we are discouraged or confused. When we are
scared and feel alone, we would much rather sleep all day or hide behind a movie
marathon of Twilight or our favorite episodes of Glee instead of finding the
courage to rise up and push through. Isn't it true?! I know I'd much rather do
those things when I'm discouraged, lonely, scared or even depressed. But we
must be strong. We owe it to ourselves, and to those who need us.
If
you are overcoming PTSD, cystic fibrosis, or other diseases, then I challenge
you to do one thing this week that makes you feel stronger and demonstrates the
strength that lies inside of you. Just last week, a fellow CF warrior shared
with me that she went swimming after four years of not doing so. She had quite
doing something she enjoyed because she felt sick. She demonstrated her
strength by swimming in the midst of her obstacle and in her own words, "It
felt sooo awesome. It was super tiring and I'm a little sore today. But so
worth it. Take that CF! haha!"
The
truth is, we are each much stronger than we give ourselves credit for. Push
through the discouragement, fear, pain, sickness...the loneliness and the
depression. Be strong!
2.
Do the work!
In
the book of Haggai chapter 2, verse 4-5 we read "Be strong, all you people
of the land, declares the Lord Almighty, and work. For I am with you."
After reading this verse last week, God gave me a huge revelation. I was
discouraged because I followed through on something God told me to do, but I
wasn't seeing the immediate results that I had hoped for. I was perplexed, and
I felt like giving up. But God told me that it's not about the immediate
result.
The
work that each one of us is meant to do is not about seeing a result 24 hours,
a month, or even six months later. It's about the long term effect that it will
have on others. It's about the harvest.
For
example, we don't plant an apple tree seed and expect to hold an apple the next
day. It takes time and nourishment. The same thing happens with the work that
we do. If we are not obedient in consistently doing the work day in and day
out, then the harvest that we dream of will never happen. God wants to prosper
us, but he can't unless we do the work!
3.
The future holds prosperity and blessings
Whenever
we do the work, it's a guarantee that we will see prosperity and blessings of
some sort from it. That's a spiritual law - you reap what you sow. Sow a lot of
work consistently every day and you will reap the benefits. Sow a lot of
procrastination and a year from now you'll reap nothing but lack.
Friends
God Almighty wants to prosper you and even heal you. He has plans for your life
that are so amazing! In Haggai 2:9 he says "The glory of this present
house will be greater than the glory of the former house." The problem
with this is that we will never see the glory of the things to come unless we
do the work. The glory is promised as long as we do the work!
Let
me ask you this - a year from now will you be in the same place that you are
today? Will you be hiding from the desires of your heart? Will you be hiding
behind excuses of sickness, debt, failed relationships, fear or doubt? Or will
your life be greater than it is now because you found the strength to rise up
and do the work?
There are creative ways to find a job
Alright, you have presented on
